Local Tempeh Recipes

Vegetarians and Vegans:

MoCo is working to expand or vegetarian and vegan offerings. One thing we've heard alot is a need for vegan proteins! So, we finally have tempeh back in stock and this time it's local! The folks at Rhapsody Natural Foods of Cabot sent along these recipes for you to enjoy:

Sesame Ginger Tempeh:

  • 2 lbs Rhapsody tempeh, cubed in 3/4" pieces

  • 1/3 cup brown rice syrup, or other sweetener

  • 2 Tbs soy sauce

  • 1 tsp crushed garlic

  • 1 1/2 tsp crushed ginger

  • 1 Tbs toasted sesame oil

  • 1 Tbs roasted sesame seeds

Steam tempeh 10 minutes or deep fry at 340 degrees for 5 minutes; mix in remaining ingredients while hot.

 

Teriaki Tempeh:

  • 2 lbs Rhapsody tempeh, cubed in 3/4" pieces
  • 1/3 cup brown rice syrup, or other sweetener
  • 2 Tbs soy sauce
  • 1 tsp crushed garlic

Steam tempeh 10 minutes or deep fry at 340 degrees, mix in remaining ingredients while hot.
